Definition: Bodily injury is when an insured person becomes legally responsible because of an accident arising out of the ownership, maintenance, or use of a boat. When the customer is legally required, liability coverage pays for the raising, removal, or destruction of the wreckage of a watercraft. There are multiple coverage limits available up to $500,000 CSL.
Examples:
John is kicked back fishing in his boat when out of nowhere a jet ski crashes into John breaking his arm. The person operating the jet ski does have insurance. The jet skier’s boat insurance will cover John’s property damage, bodily injury including medical bills, loss of earnings, future medical treatment, and future loss of earnings as well as pain and suffering under the bodily injury & property damage coverage.
