Car insurance companies are constantly looking for ways to attract new clients. Several companies have come out with reward packages. Currently, the best reward packages are coming from Nationwide, Allstate, and Progressive. Keep in mind all of these rewards are not automatic on your policy. You usually have to purchase car insurance bells and whistles in order to get their benefits.

• Accident forgiveness: Makes it so if you are in an at-fault accident, your rates will not go up. One accident is allowed every three years per driver.
• Minor violation forgiveness: A minor violation ticket won’t increase your rates. One every three years per driver.

• Disappearing deductible: Get an immediate $100 credit on your deductible. Then it will drop another $100 for every year of safe driving, up to $500.
• Total loss deductible waiver: If your car is totaled in an accident, you are not responsible for paying your deductible.

• For every six months of accident free driving, you can earn a safe driving bonus check for a percentage of your premium.

• Automatic coverage, rewards get bigger over time
• 1st level: Unlimited small accident forgiveness
• 2nd level: Young driver discount, continuous insurance discount, & large accident forgiveness

Reward Options

The extra coverage can be nice, but you have to determine its true value. Speak with your agent about the cost of the reward packages. A crystal ball sure would make this process easier, unfortunately all you have to go by is your past experiences to determine the likelihood of needing these coverages.
